Who Hires Our Students






Business administration professionals work in just about any industry, from hospitality to TV production. Buffalo State business majors learn to use business and financial principles and know-how to succeed as managers, human resource or marketing officers, entrepreneurs, and more.
The Undergraduate Research Office promotes, supports, and funds undergraduate research. More than 400 students present each year at the Student Research and Creativity Conference. They also compete for Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowships, which support eight weeks of paid research activity.
The Business Department assists students in obtaining practical business experience through internships. Students are required to work a total of 135 hours at an internship placement site to earn three internship credit hours.
- Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society: recognizes academic, management, and administration achievements
- Center for Applied Imagination: offers workshops and other opportunities that benefit business administration students
- Center for Economic and Policy Studies: an interdisciplinary center for researching policy challenges and policy options in the Great Lakes urban region
- INCubator: a space on campus where entrepreneurial students gain support, hear from professional business owners, collaborate on business ideas, and prepare for competitions
- Circle K Club: work on a variety of service activities, fundraise for organizations, and attend conferences
- United Students Government: provides activities, representation, and services for all students at the college
- Small Business Development Center: provides management and technical assistance to start-up and existing small businesses
All students are assigned a professional adviser. Junior and senior business students are assigned a faculty adviser in the Business Department.
There are a few scholarships specifically for BA majors, including the Kratus Entrepreneurship Scholarship and the Michael T. Morrisey Memorial Scholarship. Buffalo State awards hundreds of scholarships based upon academic merit, financial need, field of study, or a combination of criteria.
Buffalo State's Academic Center for Excellence offers tutoring and writing support. A Business Department faculty member provides individual tutoring for accounting.
